Position Overview

The Hygiene Promoter will be responsible for conducting hygiene awareness and behavior change sessions within target communities. The role includes engaging women and girls to promote safe hygiene practices, supporting the distribution of hygiene kits, and ensuring the effective delivery of key health and sanitation messages.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct community-level hygiene promotion and awareness sessions focused on personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene management, and safe water use.
  • Deliver practical demonstrations on handwashing, waste management, and safe storage of water.
  • Support in the distribution of hygiene kits and ensure beneficiaries understand their proper use.
  • Mobilize community members, especially women and girls, to participate in hygiene and health sessions.
  • Assist in identifying community hygiene needs and provide feedback to the Technical Officer.
  • Record attendance, session details, and feedback from participants for reporting purposes.
  • Support the MEAL team in conducting post-distribution monitoring and beneficiary feedback collection.
  • Ensure that all activities are conducted in a culturally sensitive and gender-appropriate manner.
  • Promote key health and hygiene messages through household visits and small group discussions.
  • Contribute to reports, photos, and success stories highlighting project achievements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Intermediate (FA/FSc) qualification; a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Public Health is an advantage.
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in hygiene promotion, community mobilization, or health education.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, especially with women and community groups.
  • Understanding of local cultural and gender dynamics.
  • Fluency in Pashto and Urdu.
  • Female candidates from District Buner are strongly encouraged to apply.

Duration and Duty Station

This is a one-month position based in District Buner, with frequent visits to targeted communities.
